Solark Industries ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect

When you create an account, place an order, or contact us, we collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, and order history. If you pay by card or Instant EFT, your payment is processed directly by PayFast — we never see or store your card details.

Why we collect it

We use your information to process and deliver orders, provide customer support, send order and account-related emails (like sign-in links and order confirmations), and — only if you've opted in — send marketing communications. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum information necessary with service providers who help us run the store: PayFast (payment processing), our courier partner (delivery), and our email service provider (transactional emails). Each is required to protect your information and use it only for the service they provide us.

Your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention requirements, such as for tax records), and object to processing for direct marketing at any time. Data retention

We retain order and account information for as long as your account is active and as needed to meet our legal and tax obligations. You can request account deletion at any time.

Security

We use industry-standard measures — including HTTPS encryption and access controls — to protect your information. No online system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your data.

Complaints

If you believe we've mishandled your personal information, you may lodge a complaint with South Africa's Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za) after first raising it with us.
